At St Cleopas Primary Academy, we aim to develop all pupils so that they achieve and succeed.
Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning. Here, we encourage and inspire children of any age and ability through positive outdoor experiences.
Encouraged participation in engaging, risky, challenging yet achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment, promote continuous development of sound emotional, social and communication skills.
Our Forest School programme, runs throughout the year, accessing the Forest School area within the school grounds (located on the Junior field) in all weathers (except for high winds and storms).
Forest School sessions consist of a series of carefully planned activities, both educational and conservation based, designed to achieve the overall objectives of Forest School. The children use full-size tools, play, learn boundaries of behaviour – both physical and social, take risks and make mistakes. Making mistakes is key to their development and allows an opportunity for self-reflection, evaluation and dedication to succeed.
