Paralympic Hero Roy Turnham Visits St Cleopas

Roy Turnham

Born blind/Roy started out as an 800m runner in the UK Athletics development squad.

He also represented England in the 2008 visually impaired Ashes Cricket series which England won against Australia. Roy has always loved Football and began to play competitively with Everton in the National Blind League in 2008.


Roy made his debut at the 201 1 IBSA World Games in Antalya, Turkey, playing against Thailand. One of the newer members of the Football 5-a-side team, Roy made his Paralympic debut at London 2012 and was part of the Football 5-a-side team that finished in 7th place. Some of Roy's achievements include: * 2012 London Paralympic Games: 7th place. * 2011 IBSA World Games - Antalya, Turkey: 4th. * 2008 England visually impaired Ashes Series vs. Australia (won).
