Through music, we intend to provide children with a better understanding of the world they live in. Music is an integral part of personal development and we believe that the teaching and learning of music enables children to become confident and creatively expressive individuals. T

hrough our whole-school scheme – Charanga, children get the opportunity to participate in a variety of musical experiences, from composing, listening and appraising a variety of music styles.

Where possible, we encourage children to play musical instruments to apply the knowledge and skills they will have developed over time. As music brings people together and enables children to feel part of a wider community, children take part in weekly singing assemblies and are given the opportunity to join the school choir.
