By year 5, we should be beginning to take on our own responsibilities so we decided that the best way to learn this would be to get a class pet! We researched an animal we had no experience with and found some very interesting facts which have helped us look after them so far. Here are some photos of our little stick insects...they're only small at the moment but they will grow!
On Friday we hosted a Macmillan cake sale in our classroom. We turned it upside down, displayed the beautiful cakes donated by families from the school and used our mental maths to help sell them all!
We raised an outstanding £230! Thank you to everyone who donated or bought from our sale, we know the money will go towards incredible things. Any left over cakes will be sold in school for 20 pence each so bring your pennies!
This week we voted for the two members of School Council who will represent our class this year. We talked about how in the UK we have democracy which allows us all to have a say about who runs the country. We then used this method to vote. We listened to each candidate and asked them questions before voting secretly. Our votes were counted up and the School Council members were chosen.
They are- Derry Brown and Amy- Leigh Dunn!
