Y1/2 visited Liverpool Community Spirit to learn about global Christianity and Judaism
This half term our theme is "Harvest". We will be finding out where our food comes from and saying thank you to God for our harvest. We will also be discussing those people who do not have enough food and how we can help them.
We baked soda bread and shared it with our friends.
Where does our food come from? Next time you take your child to the supermarket take a look at the countries of origin. How far has our fruit travelled to get to our table? How was brought here?
We learned about the Jewish festival of Sukkot. This is the Jewish harvest celebration remembering the journey from Egypt to the Promised Land.
We made shelters called sukkah, from different materials. Jewish people eat their meals outside in sukkahs during Sukkot.
Shaking the lulav.
We learned how Jewish people shake the lulav, which is a bunch of four different species of plant, to bless their house. We enjoyed having a boogie!!
