Music

Through music, we intend to provide children with a better understanding of the world they live in. Music is an integral part of personal development and we believe that the teaching and learning of music enables children to become confident and creatively expressive individuals. Through our whole-school scheme – Charanga, children get the opportunity to participate in a variety of musical experiences, from composing, listening and appraising a variety of music styles. Our school is also supported by Resonate Music Hub who provide the children with the opportunity to engage with both live and virtual music performances.

Where possible, we encourage children to play musical instruments to apply the knowledge and skills they will have developed over time. Currently our upper key stage 2 children are learning how to play ukulele  and look forward to performing their pieces in front of an audience.

We offer a range of extra-curricular opportunities including choir, karaoke club and breakfast boomwhacker club.
