Y5 have been making rectilinear shapes using our bodies and finding the area and the perimeter. 

Using cuisenaire rods and numicon we have been solving always, sometimes and never statements.

We used the rods to reason and problem solve: each coloured rod had a value involving decimals and we had to create a dinosaur with a given total. We then explained how we did this and extended our knowledge further by deciding whether it would make it easier by changing the values of the coloured rods.
