Ice experiments

We made ice balloons and played with them in the water tray.

One of our children thought they looked like dinosaur eggs so we decided to try freezing a man inside. The following day he was trapped so with hammers we tried to help him escape.

The following week we looked at why water freezes and how we can make it melt. We then came up with a great idea-"Let's make ice pops."

We tried painting with frozen paint cubes...we found it funny as the paint melted onto our paper and the colours all mixed together. It was a very cold experience.
We made frozen fruit ice pops. First we cut the fruit, then we placed it into the mould with the fruit. We discussed where we would put the ice moulds to make it freeze. The following day we went to the freezer and were able to enjoy our ice pops together.
